BIOGRAPHY
My name is Aaron Eddy. I was born in 1983, and the owner of Smokedout Entertainment. People call me "Smokey", a nickname that was given to me as a young boy. My life started in the projects of Santurce, Puerto Rico. I was the second oldest of nine children and money was tight. It was a real struggle growing up, I felt that I had an enormous responsibility on my hands. I tried to do anything and everything that I could do to help out, I helped my mother provide for my siblings and myself. A majority of my time, I would stand on the block selling chocolates, I would scrub shoes, polish boots and even clean glass, to make a few bucks. Around Christmas time, I would go around my neighborhood singing Christmas carols. While I walked around singing I would have two sticks in my hands, making a festive rhythm, I tapped the two sticks together. The very kind-hearted people that watched with smiles on their face, were generous and would hold out their hand to hand me money. God made me very thankful for times like this, along with that I was alive, healthy and able to work very hard to make sure my family was taken care of.
Around the age of eleven, I wanted to become a rap artist more than anything. My inspiration was DJ Playero, a well know reggaeton artist. I used to live next door to his family house, On special occasions, I saw him come and visit his family with different rappers by his side. I wanted to talk to him, but was too nervous. I realized I wasn’t ready to talk to him yet, I knew I did not have enough experience. That made me I worked harder at writing my own lyrics, and later I began performing my own shows at house parties and local clubs. With the little money that I earned I would go a local recording studio to record my music. When I first started recording, I knew I had the love for music and it would be apart my life. Wanting more for myself, I decided to leave the projects. In August 2002, I moved to Massachusetts to pursue my passion.
I was nineteen, alone, a bit scared and beyond nervous. I barely knew any English and what I could speak wasn't that great. However, I caught on quickly by listening to other people. When I first moved to Massachusetts, I stayed with my Aunt. After only two months, she told me I had to leave. I thought we had a good trusting relationship but suddenly everything changed when I told her some stories that she did nor agree upon. Next thing I had to face was the words she told me, “I had only a week to be out of her house.” With no place to go, I had moved here and there, and house to house, having to staying with some of my friends. Desperate and depressed, I moved over fourteen times, in six years. A lot of the places happened to be located in bad areas. At one point, I lived in a shed and had no contact with my family. I would cry as I prayed to God, asking him for guidance and to let me know that everything would be alright. The nights were long and lonely. I was not only worried about my future, but I was very concerned for my family back at home.
I thought it was best to try and go back to college to get a degree in architecture, where I left off, back home in Puerto Rico. But I could not afford to put my self back into school. I didn’t know what to do and I was doing all I could do to survive. I decided to enrolled myself in hair-dressing school. Once I finished and earned my degree, I started doing haircuts. I was able to build a small but steady clientele. Any other odd jobs that I could come across I would take, all this small jobs combined helped me to pay my bills and survive. At the same time, I put money to the side, I desperately wanted to work on putting a home studio together and fulfill my desire for music. After years of sacrifice, the visions and dreams that I had as a little boy in Puerto Rico are now becoming a reality. Today I have a state-of-the-art studio and am very grateful for all the blessings, that have endured me to reach this point. I am talking and meeting with others on a daily basis, to help the assurance and foundation of Smokedout Entertainment. With aggressive motivation and faith, this will be a successful production to come.
It has taken me months, to come up with creative ideas to have Smokedout Entertainment and how to present a new fresh look on music. My goal was to build a studio that represented a variety of different cultures and something apart from any other record label. Such as Classic Soul, Reggaeton, Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae, changing them around and developing a new upbeat version to them. I have worked twelve hour days, engineering beats and recording, what will be future number one hits. I am working on a new favor of music, to be heard by millions of people. At this moment, I am concentrating on promotion and distribution of a mix tape and distributing of an album.
In the works, Smokedout Entertainment is creating a outerwear clothing line. A monthly Smokedout magazine is under construction as well. This magazine with have all the latest news, from all over the world. These publications cover everything and it will all be found in this one magazine. It will deal with celebrities, gossip and beefs. Interviews with celebrities, telling you the real side of their stories. The latest trends and fashions. Smokedout Entertainment's newest project for this year, will be to help the poor. We will be raising money for charities, that deal with the homeless mothers and children. Smokedout Entertainment is emerging from a dream, to an opportunity, and into a reality. What Smokedout means to me, is something being hot! Which interrupts the introductory of my beats and music made. My sincerest thanks to all who have believed in me. In addition, thank you to all who has helped and are still helping me, to form a solid structure of Smokedout Entertainment.
